Titian Software announced the successful completion of Phase 1 physical testing for the Mosaic Tempo™ Fulfilment Module (TFM), developed in collaboration with Labcyte in December 2017.
The Tempo Fulfilment Module was designed to integrate Labcyte's Access platform directly with Mosaic sample management software, providing sample management teams with streamlined access to acoustic liquid handling workflows while simplifying the management of the data generated by these systems.
Testing demonstrated the ability of the Tempo Fulfilment Module to:
The Tempo Fulfilment Module enables sample management teams to execute workflow steps optimized for the Labcyte acoustic platform through an intuitive user experience requiring minimal operator intervention.
At the time of testing, the integration significantly reduced manual file handling and spreadsheet-based calculations, helping improve workflow efficiency, consistency, and traceability.
Labcyte and Titian worked closely together to develop a reliable and flexible integration between the two platforms, demonstrating the value of collaboration between laboratory automation providers and sample management software specialists.
More information on the current functionality is available from our application note entitled: “Using Echo Liquid Handler and Access with Mosaic Sample Management Software.”
The successful development of the Tempo Fulfilment Module represented an important step toward fully integrated acoustic workflows and helped demonstrate how software orchestration can simplify increasingly complex laboratory automation environments.
Many of the principles established through this work, including automation orchestration, inventory synchronization, auditability, and workflow integration, remain central to the Mosaic platform today.

Labcyte was a global biotechnology tools company headquartered in San Jose, California. Its Echo® acoustic liquid handling technology used sound waves to transfer liquids without physical contact, eliminating the need for pipette tips and enabling highly precise low-volume transfers.
The technology was widely adopted across pharmaceutical, biotechnology, contract research, clinical, and academic laboratories supporting applications including drug discovery, genomics, proteomics, diagnostics, and personalized medicine.
In 2019, Labcyte was acquired by Beckman Coulter Life Sciences, expanding Beckman Coulter's laboratory automation portfolio and bringing Echo acoustic liquid handling technology into the Beckman Coulter product family.
Today, Echo acoustic liquid handling systems continue to be used across life science research and drug discovery laboratories worldwide as part of the Beckman Coulter Life Sciences portfolio.
Titian Software was a pioneer in sample management software for life science research organizations. Its Mosaic platform helped laboratories automate sample storage, preparation and distribution workflows.
Titian Software later became part of Cenevo, bringing Mosaic together with Labguru to create a comprehensive platform for connected laboratory operations, automation, data management and AI-enabled research.
